Jeanene Melquist

I believe in therapy, for help in coming to terms with the past, better wellness in the present, and more hope for the future. We cannot erase history, but we can work on changing our relationship to our pain, and identifying things within our control. Self-understanding is key for making healthy changes. I enjoy helping people understand and work with the connection between their thoughts, feelings & actions, which can be beneficial for making positive changes in self, relationships, and life overall.

Included in my therapy approaches are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) - a great system of coping skills that is rooted in mindfulness, and helps with tolerating distress, regulating emotions, & improving relationship with self and others. Issues we can work on may include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, relationships, self-esteem, trauma, and life transitions.

I believe in creating a collaborative therapy environment, and a safe space where clients can do their work. Life may never be perfect - but it can feel better. It is possible, with the help of therapy, to move forward with a greater sense of purpose and peace than you may have thought possible.
